All Saints Day

While by our faith we may also be called saints we are also running the long race of life. Today we celebrate those holy men and women who have completed such a marathon and who are citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem.

While we add nothing to the glory of the saints by celebrating them we honor them because it aids us. Their example is our guide. Thus Mary is rightly called the Queen of All Saints because her simple example is the model by which we come to Christ the King of All.
